Time for Spring cleaning!
No, I’m not talking about dusting the shelves, washing the windows, or putting the winter coats into storage. Mental Spring cleaning is just as important.
Here are five things you can think about to simplify, balance, and de-clutter your life:
Is powerful. Use fewer words. Keep your speech and written communication straightforward and to-the-point. Eliminate negativity and try not to gossip. Reduce the superfluous thoughts that keep your brain churning at night while you’re trying to fall asleep.
Take care not to spread yourself too thin. Fear of missing out often creates a schedule too packed to remain in a healthy frame of mind. Lessen the load whenever youcan; learn to say “no” and not regret it. Make a list of everything you’ve committed to (for the day, week, month, etc.) and prioritize. If you reduce or eliminate the things thatdon’t bring you happiness or add value, you’ll have more time for the things that do.
Turn off the TV, put down the phone, step away from the computer. You don’t need to be connected to everyone every second of the day. Media rearranges your values and outlook on things; take a step back and form your own opinions. Furthermore, constantly looking at a screen worsens your eyesight!
Simply stated, you don’t need as many things. Remove the physical or material possessions that cost you money, energy, and attention. De-clutter your space and aim to live with fewer things.
This is a big one. Stop worrying about the little things. Everything doesn’t have to be perfect, you’re not going to please everyone, and worrying just causes extra stress. Ask instead of guessing, say what you mean, and think pro-actively.
